Reading one is an excerpt from David McNally’s Global Slump: The Economics and Politics of Crisis and Resistance, covering the basic history and economic concepts needed to understand capitalisms endless drive to grow and exploit. Our second supplementary reading is an excerpt from David Harvey’s The Enigma of Capital and The Crisis of Capitalism adding an overview of the economic geography of global capitalism, how it spreads and reshapes urban spaces. The two passages build on each other so definitely start with McNally.
