The Cleveland chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, along with the national DSA, condemn the ongoing state and corporate violence against the just resistance of the Dakota Sioux Standing Rock indigenous people to the violation of their land and treaty rights by the Energy Transfer Partners’ construction of the Dakota Access crude oil pipeline. The Cleveland DSA echoes the call for solidarity made in a recent statement by the DSA National Political Committee, and encourages everyone in Cleveland to support the national day of protests in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux on Tuesday September 13th.
For those in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, a solidarity action and rally is taking place on Tuesday, September 13 at 4 pm across from the West Side Market at the SE Corner of West 25th St and Lorain Ave at 4 pm. More details are available at this link or on facebook.
