Come on out and join the Ice Cream Socialists!
The Cleveland chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) invites you to join us for our ice cream social event at Lakewood Park in the Kiwanis Pavilion from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, September 17.
Cleveland DSA is a local chapter of a national movement rooted in the idea that both the economy and society should be run democratically to meet human need. We work to empower ordinary working people, chip away at capitalism, and dismantle corporate power over government and public life. Our commitment to building democratic socialism gives us a broad outlook that intersects with many social justice issues; including confronting racism and xenophobia, protecting women’s health and reproductive justice, insuring a living wage for all workers, dealing with the threat of climate change, and much more.
DSA Cleveland invites you (yes you, comrade!) to join us to learn more! Join us for an evening of ice cream and conversation about questions including
- What *really* is democratic socialism, and how is this different from Bernie Sanders’ campaign?
- How does democratic socialism intersect with these different issues? What does democratic socialism contribute the these questions?
- What can DSA offer you? How can your personal passion, work, or organization contribute to DSA or work together?
At our social we aim to both educate and build solidarity with other groups in the Greater Cleveland area. Come out and join the Ice Cream Socialists of DSA Cleveland. We’ll provide the ice cream, come join the conversation and help us build a democratic socialist future!
