On Saturday, February 17 at 1 pm – 4 learn how to combat the socialization of silence that all femmes face with a workshop about public speaking. Topics to be discussed include:
-Introduction: How femmes are conditioned to be silent (1:00 pm – 1:20 pm)
-Intersectional challenges of public speaking (1:30 pm-1:50 pm)
-Preparing a speech (2:00 pm – 2:20 pm)
-Speaking in meetings (2:30 pm – 2:50 pm)
-Communicating extemporaneously (speaking on the fly)
(3:00 pm – 3:20 pm)
One on one practice with men will be available during the last 30 minutes of the seminar courtesy of the Detoxifying Masculinity Working Group of the Cleveland DSA. You may drop into the speaking sessions freely.
